Ingredients

Scale

Filling Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chicken Breast, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil

For Wrapping

  • 12 Egg Roll Wrappers
  • 1/4 cup Water (to seal egg roll wrappers)

Cooking

  • Cooking Spray, for air fryer basket and egg rolls

Instructions

  1. Cook Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the finely chopped chicken breast until it is no longer pink, ensuring it is cooked through.
  2. Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Cook Vegetables: Stir in the shredded cabbage, carrots, and diced onion. Cook until the vegetables have softened slightly, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Season Filling: Mix in the soy sauce and sesame oil, cook everything together for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling mixture cool completely.
  5. Assemble Egg Rolls: Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cooled filling into the center of the wrapper.
  6. Roll Egg Rolls: Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with a little water to prevent opening during cooking.
  7. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the egg rolls in a single layer to avoid overcrowding.
  9. Air Fry: Lightly spray the tops of the egg rolls with cooking spray. Air fry for 10 minutes total, flipping halfway through, until the egg rolls are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Cool and Serve: Remove the egg rolls and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce such as sweet and sour or plum sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure the filling is completely cooled before assembling to prevent the wrappers from becoming soggy.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow even crisping; cook in batches if necessary.
  • For extra crispiness, spray a light coat of oil on the egg rolls before air frying.
  • You can substitute chicken breast with ground chicken or turkey for variation.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like soy sauce, sweet chili, or duck sauce for an authentic experience.
