Instructions

  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot over medium heat, melt 6 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add 8 cups of miniature marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Cereal: Remove the pot from heat and immediately add 6 cups of crisp rice cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Mix in Additional Ingredients: Stir in 2 cups of additional marshmallows (which will add a chewy texture) and 1½ cups of sweetened shredded coconut until well combined.
  5. Shape the Treats: Using a lightly buttered spatula or spoon, scoop the sticky cereal mixture onto the prepared pan. Gently press it evenly across the pan, being careful not to press too firmly, preserving some fluffiness.
  6. Add Topping and Cool: Sprinkle ¼ cup of shredded coconut evenly over the pressed mixture. Let the treats cool for a few minutes until they set.
