These Keto Philly Cheesesteak Rolls are a delicious low-carb twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak. Featuring savory ground beef, sautéed onions and bell peppers, and melted Monterey Jack cheese, these roll-ups are quick and easy to make, perfect for a satisfying keto-friendly snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Vegetables

  • 16 ounces ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

Cheeses

  • 2 cups Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces cream cheese

Seasonings and Others

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Cook the Beef Mixture: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and begin breaking it apart with a spatula. When the beef starts browning, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Cook until the beef is fully browned and the vegetables have softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease from the pan to keep the roll-ups from becoming soggy.
  3. Season and Add Cheese: Return skillet to medium heat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Add cream cheese and stir continuously until it’s completely melted and incorporated. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Create Cheese Circles: On the parchment-lined baking sheet, place 8 circles of shredded Monterey Jack cheese, about 1/4 cup each, spaced at least 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until edges turn golden and cheese forms a lace-like pattern.
  5. Assemble the Roll-Ups: Remove cheese circles from the oven and let cool for about 1 minute until pliable. Quickly place about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture on each cheese circle. Carefully roll or fold the cheese around the filling to form roll-ups. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to harden and hold its shape.

Notes

  • For ease, slice vegetables and measure ingredients before starting.
  • Drain excess grease after cooking beef to prevent sogginess.
  • Work quickly when assembling to shape cheese while warm and pliable.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  • Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
