Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (or more for extra spice)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wrapper & Frying

  • 1 package spring roll wrappers (or dumpling wrappers)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cabbage, grated carrots, chopped green onions, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, and salt. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  2. Assemble the Dumpling Rolls: Lay a spring roll or dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of the wrapper. Fold the sides over the filling, then roll tightly, sealing the edges with a little water to prevent leaking during frying.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). The oil should be enough to submerge at least half of the dumpling rolls.
  4. Fry the Dumpling Rolls: Carefully place the assembled dumpling rolls into the hot oil, a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve: Serve the spicy beef dumpling rolls hot with dipping sauces such as soy sauce, extra sriracha, or sweet chili sauce for added flavor.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spice level.
  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent soggy rolls.
  • Use fresh spring roll or dumpling wrappers for best texture.
  • These rolls can be baked as a lighter alternative; bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
  • Store leftover cooked rolls in an airtight container and reheat in an oven to retain crispiness.
